Job Details
This Director role is the lead for training supporting Global curriculum development and product launches. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the team that delivers the training strategy that supports all field facing members of Global Field Sales Training Teams and Global Account Managers. This position routinely interacts with Senior Leadership, and leverages various groups across the world to deliver results. The ability to collaborate cross functionally is critical to this role.
The Director will work through their direct reports to understand the behavioral objectives of the marketing teams for each brand and be able to translate those objectives into a training strategy that will drive revenue. This individual will be asked to drive innovation, new technologies, and the latest adult learning techniques through their organization.
The Director will manage a team of trainers who have specific training responsibilities and duties.
This position is a member of the GCO L&P Leadership Team and is expected to contribute at a high level to direct the overall Learning & Performance strategy at Amgen.
Responsibilities include:
Develop a training strategy and support for curriculum for all Amgen brands and account manager training, focusing on launches
Work closely with Senior Sales Leadership and marketing to identify opportunities for skill enhancement
Leverage training expertise and best practices
Develop and manage a budget to deliver training
Recruit, train, lead, and develop a dynamic training team
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 4 years of training experience, or training and sales and/or marketing experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years of training experience, or training and sales and/or marketing experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of training experience, or training and sales and/or marketing experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years previous management experience
2+ years sales/field experience
Sales or marketing experience
Previous experience in support functions i.e., previous corporate/home office experience
