We currently have an opportunity in the Process Development Business Analysis and Performance group for a Senior Manager, Business Performance.

Process Development is responsible for enabling commercialization of the product pipeline, product lifecycle management, and technical manufacturing support of Amgen commercial products. The Business Analysis and Performance group drives Process Development to be a more effective, efficient, and value-driven organization.

The Business Analysis and Performance group is seeking a highly motivated individual who will lead initiatives, perform strategic analysis and guide financial business case development. Along with key business partners and functional groups this person will focus on developing business cases making effective recommendations to Process Development senior leadership team. The successful candidate will also lead and manage teams to advance Process Development objectives

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Manage and lead complex, cross-functional projects which will have implications for Process Development, Manufacturing, and Operation's network
  • Actively contribute to Business Analysis and Performance group strategy and goal setting
  • Partner with CMC Lifecycle Management, Operations Strategic Planning, and Operations Finance on key functional and corporate initiatives
  • Perform opportunity/risk and cost-benefit analyses, and develop business cases
  • Perform business and financial modeling to drive decisions
  • Present recommendations to Senior Management and drive decisions
  • Manage a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering high quality results
  • Conduct project scoping and chartering, define execution strategy, and guide project completion
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance in business and financial analysis, business value capture
  • Leverage network and relationships to identify business requirements and potential opportunities
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate and 2 years of engineering, science or business management in life sciences industry experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of engineering, science or business management in life sciences industry experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of engineering, science or business management in life sciences industry experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of engineering, science or business management in life sciences industry experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of engineering, science or business management in life sciences industry experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills including financial analysis, cost accounting, and product lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug development, commercialization and operations planning
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing, supply chain fundamentals and risk management
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Good business acumen, high-level strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, pragmatically scope, and solve abstract and complex problems
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to drive decisions
  • Proven experience as a member and leader of a high performing team
  • Proven leadership skills, organizational and project management experience
  • Experience developing and mentoring staff
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
