Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

The Intern of Marketing Data Sciences will be responsible for various business projects within Commercial Information Management. The intern will assist the Marketing Data Sciences Lead with project management and proof of concept development for the data sciences team. The intern will aid to maintain communicating Marketing Data Hub (MDH) issues and updates/changes to clients and execute business strategy into actionable tasks/projects for IS technical teams/vendors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing models and applications for proof of concept to support future MDH vision and roadmap
  • Providing support for Marketing Data Hub for day to day operations
  • Drafting and updating detailed project plans for small projects or portions of larger projects
  • Assisting in testing, maintaining, and documenting components of business processes to support MDH
  • Assisting in concisely documenting data and business requirements
  • Gaining an understanding of basic business processes
  • Analyzing business flow and processes for implementation and PoCs
  • Participating in and coordinating any ad-hoc data projects
  • Contributing to the completion of department and team goals associated with specific projects or activities within the department and across CIM

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Masters internship OR a PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, Software/UI development or related fields

Hands on software development experience with focus on data sciences, big data, AI or ML

Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize tasks and activities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent problem-solving and organization skills

Ability to resolve issues involving competing priorities

Effective facilitation skills in challenging situations

Experience in managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to develop and manage project management plans

Ability to communicate and collaborate with other professionals and management staff

Demonstrated ability to effectively produce business results

Self-starter and detail-oriented

Strong work ethic, drive, and ambition for success
