The Senior Associate, Corporate Locksmith provides locksmith level design, installation and maintenance of all types of locking and security-related equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, cylindrical, mortise, and rim locks, motor and manually driven detention equipment, mechanical and electrical locks, including those operated by magnetic strip, keypad, proximity reader and remote control. Maintains computerized monitoring systems, key issue records, encoding key cards and electronic locking systems. This position requires strong technical skills, knowledge of related industry practices, ability to work under the general direction in a team-oriented environment.

Position reports to the Senior Manager, Security Systems and Technologies

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and implements Master Facility Key and Lock Plans.
  • Uses appropriate discretion and special knowledge of lock systems to preserve the integrity of the master key system while meeting customer requests.
  • Determines the correct key and locking system to install based on facility requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate licenses, specifications, controls and procedures are in-place to protect and maintain the integrity of the company's keyway(s).
  • Installs, services, and maintains all types of door locks, door closers, exit devices, panic hardware and related hardware. Installs and repairs door hardware and closing fixtures.
  • Cuts new or duplicate keys and stamps with identification.
  • Program, install and instruct on use of electronic locksets and keys.
  • Issues keys and maintains records of keys issued and returned in accordance with company policy and record retention.
  • Maintains records of work performed.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Delivers key, lock and door hardware training on key/lock related systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains both mechanical locking and electronic key card systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations as applicable to service, installation, maintenance of life safety hardware.
  • Provides other Security related assistance as needed or requested.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree
OR
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of locksmith and door hardware experience
OR
Associate's degree and 6 years of locksmith and door hardware experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of locksmith and door hardware experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years Locksmith/Lock shop experience
  • Solid working knowledge of key lock management protocol, processes and procedures in multiple large facilities
  • Proven record of managing the integration of lock systems and maintaining inventories
  • Certification/Licensure Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL) by Associated Locksmiths of America
  • Effective interaction in a team environment
  • Personal integrity
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the basic requirements of master keying systems
  • Skill in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to program, install and instruct on use of electronic locksets
  • Ability to cut and issue keys, re-key, install and repair locks and hardware
  • Ability to interpret, implement, and maintain pre-defined master key systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tolls applicable to trade
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair both mechanical and electronic access control devices
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
