Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Amgen is seeking an intern to join Amgen Information Systems (IS), working in the Collaboration Team within Digital Workplace Solutions (DWS) office supporting Office 365, Exchange, and Messaging initiatives. In this key role, you will work with the team responsible for deploying and supporting Office 365 and other related technologies. This role will be working with the Automation team to understand business needs and processes and automate them using Amgen's automation platforms, helping to automate processes across multiple groups and technologies.

The intern will report to the Senior Manager, Information Systems based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. Our Tampa Capability Center provides essential services that enable us to better pursue this mission. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

DWS is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle of Amgen's messaging and collaboration technologies. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.

Key Activities:
  • Interact with business and service owners to understand business needs and processes
  • Help to develop solutions with our established automation team
  • Attend meetings and create minutes and business and technical documentation as needed
  • Provide meaningful value to the team using development skills

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree concentration(s) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Science
  • Development experience utilizing Microsoft Stack technologies, PowerShell, Scorch, SCCM Platform, c#, python, Perl, JavaScript.
  • Project experience working on or with established teams
  • Previous participation in automation projects using the above-mentioned technologies
  • Well versed and understand SDLC along with concepts such as Agile
