The Commercial Strategy & Analytics Sales Force Size and Structure Sr Manager is responsible for sales force targeting, sizing and structure for the Bone and Cardiovascular business unit (BCBU).

The individual will synthesizing data from multiple sources and working on cross-functional teams. He or she is a champion of insights-driven strategy and objective evidence-based decision making.

This position reports to the Director of the Sales and Marketing Effectiveness Pod within Commercial Strategy and Analytics (CS&A) and provides analytics support to key Amgen products:

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide analyses including sales force sizing, alignment, call planning and targeting
  • Provide assessment of Sales Reps by tracking key metrics (sales, call data etc.); Assess effectiveness and impact of targeting efforts
  • Be responsible for identifying opportunities for improving salesforce internally and informing solutions to drive field impact
  • Predict and communicate downstream impact on sales operations (Incentive Compensation, Alignment operations, reporting, etc.) from targeting and alignment changes.
  • Capture, manipulate, interpret and share large amounts of data from multiple and diverse sources. Ensure data integrity and quality checks.
  • Leverage visualization tools and techniques to communicate and disseminate ideas, concepts and insights to key stakeholders


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics, sales operations and/or finance experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of analytics, sales operations and/or finance experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of analytics, sales operations and/or finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills-able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Proven project management skills-able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and data sources
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, modeling software, reporting software, and database design
  • Demonstrated analytical skills-understands the advantages and limits of different analytical/quantitative approaches
  • Strong consultative & problem-solving skills
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment
  • Strong understanding of the latest developments in the biopharmaceutical industry, Health Care Providers' drug decision-making processes, and/or DTC or Physician Relationship Marketing analytics
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, modeling software, reporting software, and database design
  • Broad, working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry secondary databases
  • Knowledge of at least one therapeutic area of focus
  • Business analytics or sales operations in the biopharmaceutical or other healthcare industries
