Summary: Primarily responsible for the direction, organization and supervision of all facilities general operations and functions; this position is responsible for assisting the Manager of Facilities Maintenance with the administration of the departments general site services and overseeing the operation of the facilities maintenance function at the Rensselaer Manufacturing Plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervisor, planning and scheduling of maintenance, repairs and modifications to all facilities general building equipment and supporting infrastructure; including roofs.

• Provides oversight, guidance and direction to a cross functional team of Facilities Maintenance Technicians, including Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry and Process Area work on shift with the objective of safely and effectively operating equipment and building systems.

• Provides assistance and direction with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs. Work with employees' direct supervisor/manager to assign and schedule work requests utilizing the Blue Mountain Work Request System;

• Evaluates employee performance; Collaborates with employees' direct supervisor/manager to provide performance feedback. Participates and provides direct performance feedback in 30/30 process.

• Collaborates with employees' direct supervisor/manager to ensure staff receives the appropriate training level for role.

• Provides and ensures cross shift communication occurs between all shifts within the Facilities Maintenance Department.

• Manages contracted service work at the facility, including understanding and developing the scope of service, bidding, awarding and administering the contract duties.

• Provides assistance and direction with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.

• Develop and implement ideas and suggestions for improving on site building efficiency.

• Ensures compliance with all state, local and company policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, security and environmental. protection. Update and maintain programs to support these efforts.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Requires technical certificate or AAS in engineering or construction technologies with 5 years of relevant experience.

• Previous leadership experience required

• Strong technical, leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Computer software competencies: PM, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project Experienced equipment reliability methods including preventive & predictive maintenance, TPM, FMEA/RCM.
