Summary: Supports and influences the identification, evaluation, and development of combination product (medical device) technologies to prepare drug delivery solutions for selection by Regeneron drug development programs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Designing and executing experiments to scientifically evaluate new technologies

• Developing quantitative measures to judge solutions against alternatives and recommend next steps

• Authors documentation to support future design control activities with Regeneron drug products

• Supporting the Assoc. Manager, New Technology Management by creating project schedules and managing those development activities outside the scope of Product Design and Innovation responsibilities

• Writes and reviews test protocols, technical memos, test reports, and summary documents

• Preparing document and presentations for management decision making regarding how to best progress the development of solutions

• Managing relationships with component vendors and service subcontractors, as delegated by management

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Evidence of strong technical writing and communications skills is required

• Knowledge and experience utilizing design of experiments is required

• Experience writing design control documentation is required

• Experience writing technical documents such as test reports, technical memos, test protocols, and summary reports is required

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and JMP/MiniTab is required

• Experience evaluating designs of varying fidelity, e.g., concept through prototype through a ready-for-human-use system, is strongly preferred

• Experience operating laboratory equipment such as Instron® and Micro-Vu® is preferred

• Experience managing projects and timelines with external vendors and other parties is preferred

• Project management experience is preferred

• Experience with human factors and user-centered design is a plus

• Experience with SolidWorks is a plus

• Ability to maintain integrity and honesty at all times

Education and Experience:

Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with five or more years of experience. The ideal candidate would have all or a substantial portion of such experience in medical device, primary container, or combination product design.

Level of engineer to be determined based upon experience.
