Amgen is seeking a Manager, Medical Information, Contact Center Operations to join our team and work from Amgen's beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA campus. To learn more about this position.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Medical Capabilities, successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Medical Information contact center operations, processes, and systems including internal databases and external websites. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting provisioning, reporting, and business administration as related to contact center operations.

The contact center operations team oversees an external contact center provider and an external case processor. The contact center operations team works closely with external business partners and cross-functional internal partners including Medical Communications, Safety, Quality, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Regional Medical Liaisons, and Compliance. Additional responsibilities include
  • Product replacement lead, liaison with Trade Operations
  • Setting up and maintain External Collaboration Sites
  • Contributing to the development of Medical information tools and best practices
  • Providing new hire Sales training (eg, sales)
  • Maintaining and applying knowledge on regulations affecting Medical Information
  • Supervising of outsourced MedInfo activities
  • Timely triaging of AEs and PCs to the appropriate departments
  • Contributes to region-wide / global Medical Information projects and initiatives
  • Backup for other responsibilities as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required


Minimum Requirements
  • Doctorate degree

OR
  • Master's degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR
  • Bachelor's degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR
  • Associates degree & 10 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR
  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Requirements
  • MD, PharmD, PhD, or DO with 1 or more years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with biopharmaceutical industry contact centers or other customer-facing roles
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of industry regulatory and legal guidelines
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project planning skills with strong ability for self-direction
  • Demonstrated track record of execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision
  • The ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions
  • Prior experience of successfully managing vendors
  • Strong computer and database skills
