Summary:
The Sourcing Manager will develop and execute the sourcing strategies for assigned areas of responsibility. Develop program or category specifications, requirements and related scope of work that is consistent with the business requirements and Global Sourcing strategy. The Sourcing Manager identifies projects to apply a sourcing & procurement methodology and will solicit and analyze RFQs, RFIs and RFPs leading to a successful negotiation of contracts. The Sourcing Manager must be able to engage technically, operationally, and commercially to understand and enable speed, high quality performance, supply assurance, and risk mitigation. Communication with a broad stakeholder group is critical for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Uses sourcing strategies and/or clinical outsourcing market and industry expertise, analytical skills and judgement to recommend a "best" solution

• Solves highly complex problems and is able to identify viable and often innovative options

• Develops and executes sourcing strategies for respective area of responsibility to optimize value

• Solicits and analyzes requests for proposals, negotiates contracts, and ensure contract objectives are realized (Savings, SLAs, etc.); ensure compliance with pricing agreements and internal policies/procedures

• Manages vendor/supplier relationships and ensures performance and accountability are tracked/improved

• Works with upper management to develop and manage policies and procedures ensuring compliance with Company guidelines, related laws and governmental guidelines

• Manages sourcing of raw materials, equipment, indirect services or other services in support of internal business groups

• Manages supplier integration plans with internal clients for all goods and services for consumption by internal stakeholders, business unit or function

• Identifies projects to apply sourcing and procurement methodologies

• Establishes supplier relationship management as necessary with continuous improvement goals/programs

• Coaches and develops matrix team members on skill proficiency and performance with general direction on sourcing tasks and regular feedback

• Networks with key contacts outside own areas of expertise; mentors peers and senior team members within the sourcing team

Requirements:

Education

• Bachelor's plus 10 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement, to include 5 years directly in outsourcing within Pharma/Biotech

• Master's plus 6 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement, to include 5 years directly in outsourcing within Pharma/Biotech

Experience

• Working knowledge with Sourcing Contracting, ERP, eRFX systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba, Other)

• Ability to leverage standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

• Some previous leadership experience preferred.

• Good negotiations skills

• Cost modeling knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written skills

• Ability to formulate high level presentations

• Ability to build consensus, teamwork, and creativity within a collaborative team with limited supervision

• Program management experience and project management experience required
