Summary
The Bioassay group within the Therapeutic Proteins Department seeks a highly motivated and energetic Research Associate who will perform experiments for the in vitro characterization of preclinical and clinical drug candidates in Regeneron's pipeline. Responsibilities will include development of cell-based assays to measure the biological activity of antibodies and to support screening and lead candidate selection. The individual will also execute experiments utilizing primary cells to characterize preclinical antibodies to support regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will have experience with mammalian cell culture, primary cell isolation, flow cytometry and cell-based bioassays such as luciferase or proliferation assays.
Responsibilities
- Mammalian cell culture
- Run and troubleshoot cell-based bioassays
- Generation of stable cell lines via plasmid- and virus-based techniques
- Perform flow cytometry to evaluate antibody binding to the proteins of interest on the cell surface.
- Isolation of PBMCs for use in primary cell assays to assess effects such as cytokine release or effector function
- Plan experiments, including proper controls
- Analyze data accurately and in a timely manner
- Record data in an electronic notebook in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicate with supervisor and other lab members in an effective manner
- Present data within and outside the group clearly and concisely
Requirements:
This position require a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience (or MS and 1-2). Experience should include:
- Cell Culture (adherent and non-adherent cells)
- Flow Cytometry
- Luciferase Reporter Assays
- Primary cell isolation and assays
- Stable cell line generation
- Excellent communication skills
- Team Player
