Job Details
The Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics Department at AbbVie has an opening for a Senior Scientist I position in North Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for method development and quantitation of small molecules from in vitro and in vivo samples.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot LCMS systems
- Develop analytical methods for the quantitation of small molecules
- Serve as a mentor for junior staff and a resource for challenging method development projects
- Fully document experimental methods and results
Level will be based on education and years of experience.
Basic:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education in Analytical Chemistry and 10+ years of experience required (OR)
- Masters Degree or equivalent education in Analytical Chemistry and 8+ years of experience required (OR)
- PhD or equivalent in Anlaytical Chemistry with 0+ years of experience required
- Proven method development experience using various extraction, chromatographic and analytical methodologies
- Conceive and implement novel experimental approaches to answer scientific questions.
- Proven experience operating and troubleshooting Agilent HPLCs, Leap/CTC PAL autosamplers and AB Sciex Mass Spectrometers
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and an ability to collaborate successfully across other groups within R&D
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a track record of publishing and external presentations
- Highly motivated and self-driven with the flexibility to quickly adapt to different projects
- Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation and manages innovation to reality
- Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement
