Value to the Intern

Responsibilities for the IT intern will be diverse. In particular, the IT intern will combine system analyst (SA) activities and web development activities. SA activities may include the following duties/aspects (individually or as a team) for small projects:

· Work with internal and IT customers to solve a wide range of IT requests/support issues.

· Work with internal and IT customers to clarify business requirements, map them to systems capabilities, and recommend technical solutions.

· For potential and existing Web and Mobile applications, help convert business requirements into technical terms and participate / lead the development depending on the complexity.

· May need to work on several projects simultaneously in teams with other Systems Analysts and developers.

Additional responsibilities in web development may include these duties/aspects for (individually or as a team) small projects:

· ASP.Net and C# Development for existing web site projects, reverse engineer static web sites into dynamic CMS driven web applications.

· Research, plan and develop Docker and Serverless deployments for advanced web application architectures to be used for additional rapid commercial website deployments in the Cloud.

· HTML 5 and Mobile application development in Angular, Node, and other mobile and web development frameworks.

Meaningful skills developed include

· Communication and ability to work with a diverse team in IT and the business organizations

· Solving an issue from A to Z by leveraging proper planning, organization and project management

· Wide exposure to web, mobile and cloud technologies

Value to Pharmacyclics

· Idea is to potentially convert to hire especially in the systems analyst or engineering area

· Deliver a project release using new architecture deployment with serverless and Docker technologies

· Projects and accountabilities of the IT intern will be as a web/mobile systems analyst /developer

Education Requirements

· Complete at least second year of university studies prior to internship start date

· Currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited college/university

· BS Degrees: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, technical MBA or similar degrees.

· Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent

Final Presentation

Each Intern is expected to prepare a short presentation to their team to share what they have learned through their internship and how they hope their new knowledge will help them secure their future career. Presentations should be 10 - 15 minutes long and should include visual aid (posters or PowerPoint).
