Research Scientist I - Immuno-Oncology/Discovery/Biology

We are seeking a senior research associate to join the Immuno-Oncology Discovery department at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Redwood City, CA. Our mission is to identify, validate, and develop new cancer immunotherapies. The successful candidate will contribute to an array of innovative, early-stage programs at the cutting edge of immuno-oncology research and drug development.

Primary responsibilities include:

1. Characterization of immunoreceptors and their roles in anti-tumor immune responses.

2. Development and execution of functional and mechanistic cell-based assays.

3. Identification and characterization of therapeutic antibody candidates.

4. Collaboration with colleagues in supporting groups and with external researchers.

Qualifications:

1. A B.S. or M.S. in immunology or a related field field, and 5+ (B.S.) or 3+ (M.S) years of relevant experience in industry and/or academic immuno-oncology or immunology research.

2. A passion for research and a commitment to scientific excellence.

3. Demonstrated independent ability to skillfully design, execute, and analyze experiments.

4. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and record keeping.

5. A sophisticated understanding of and expertise in the isolation, characterization, and development of functional assays of human and mouse T cells and other leukocytes.

6. Experience with mouse models of T cell-driven immune responses.

7. Experience with ex vivo tumor analyses would be helpful.
