The evolving Community Strategic Collaborations Team (CSCT) is part of the Strategic Collaborations US Medical organization and focuses on building strategic collaborations between BMS and large community-based networks, facilitating knowledge of BMS pipeline while supporting the development and delivery of mutually beneficial medical, data and educational initiatives. The Director and Lead, Community Partnerships, Strategic Collaborations, US Medical will manage a team focused on building strategic collaborations between BMS and large community-based practice networks, facilitating understanding of BMS pipeline while supporting the development and delivery of mutually beneficial medical, data and educational initiatives. This position will report to the Executive Director and Head, Strategic Collaborations, US Medical serving as a core member of the Strategic Collaborations Leadership team. The Lead will further evolve and champion the Immuno-Oncology Integrated Community Oncology Network (IO-ICON) operating platform and ensure seamless integration into other Strategic Collaborations platforms.

In this role, the incumbent will:
  • Set and execute an aligned vision and strategy for I-O ICON/Strategic Community Collaborations across key functions reflecting both a customer and BMS enterprise view
  • Deliver individual network-level strategic engagement plans; Plans that effectively differentiate the scientific value of our community collaborations
  • Partner closely with R&D and other key functions to ensure shared objectives are met while enabling positive and productive experiences for our Network collaborators
  • Work with Management to set goals and objectives for direct reports, working closely with leaders in US Medical, Clinical, Development and across the Enterprise to ensure alignment
  • Build, manage and coach, for sustained high performance, an externally focused team accountable for developing and executing strategic engagement plans for Network collaborators
  • Promote an inclusive environment and culture which emphasize teamwork, cooperation, mutual respect, personal accountability and a commitment to quality
  • Employ strong business acumen focused on value creation and allocate resources consistent with priorities
  • Leverage understanding of community-based oncology networks, their strategic direction and functionality to serve as a reliable and credible thought partner to Medical, R&D, & Commercial
  • Align across the matrix to drive key decisions impacting community networks enabling efficient and effective issue resolution; Challenge and provide alternative perspectives to increase engagement and deal effectively with resistance
  • Implement consistent mechanisms by which potentially strategy-informing insights from Community Networks are shared internally
  • Create and champion opportunities for enhanced engagement between network leaders and internal stakeholders, opportunities that translate into measurable productive outcomes
  • Foster collaborative & mutually productive relationships with community network leaders ensuring that BMS is seen as the trusted partner of choice by each network
  • Apply analytics to identify opportunities to optimize performance of community-based networks working across the BMS organization


Qualifications
  • MD, PhD or PharmD degree required; Advanced scientific degree in scientific field with extensive relevant clinical experience will be considered
  • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical Clinical development, Medical Affairs or relevant commercial experience
  • The successful candidate should be an established, strategic leader with strong understanding of drug development process, expertise in scientific engagement with external stakeholders and proven ability to lead high performing teams through change
  • Strong understanding of and/or experience in community-based oncology networks, their structure, operations and areas of influence desirable
  • Adept at building credibility with external investigators & collaborative partners, evidenced by strong leadership behaviors and excellence in the science
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguous and changing healthcare landscape
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability influencing decisions with senior management
  • Expected 30% travel within the continental US
  • Position is based in Lawrenceville (Princeton Pike) New Jersey offices
