Job Details
Act as the principal designer for Supply Chain Execution systems and subsystems (Trans, Distribution, Ops Visibility) utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and designs that meet functional requirements in support of AbbVie's logistics efforts This position will play a significant role in establishing the architectural vision and direction needed for achieving full business value within AbbVie's global logistics operations. The selected individual will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing and improving long-term technological capabilities (API, TMS, Artificial Intelligence, WMS etc.), monitor market/technology trends along with vendor strategies, and determine potential impacts to AbbVie Global Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide insights to technical trends within the logistics industry as well as with vendors specializing in logistics. Able to assist in preparing near & long term strategic plans and implementation strategies that will position Abbvie for operational excellence today and tomorrow.
- Conceive, recommend, design, engineer software solutions and changes needed to support and drive improvement within AbbVie Logistics.
- Provide technical expertise in the areas of warehouse management, transportation management, and labor management solutions
- Collaborate with AbbVie's Enterprise & Domain Architectural teams to review solution design, any new implementation or introduction of new technology to ensure compliance with AbbVie standards
- Create, document, and communicate architectural specifications to vendors, contractors and business sponsors in an actionable and clear manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical business - leveraging this knowledge to develop impactful and cost-effective solutions
- Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
Basic:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3-5 years of prior Supply Chain industry experience.
- 3-5 years of experience operating, configuring, and/or integrating freight transportation management software preferably MercuryGate or another leading TMS (SAP, JDA, Manhattan, OTM, etc.)
- Experience using TMS or related planning and optimization software to conduct "what if" scenarios for freight consolidation, pooling, scheduling and other analyses
- Business process focus and experience mapping process flows
- Experience using or integrating TMS with ERP, WMS systems
- An understanding of how transportation impacts overall supply chain operations
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
