Summary:
The Associate Director, Business Intelligence (BI) will be directly responsible for aligning, prioritizing, and delivering projects related to the in-house business intelligence tool. Upon beginning the role, their primary responsibility will be to lead the design and creation of that tool, the objective of which is to centralize all secondary, and eventually primary, commercial data for the commercial organization within an intuitive insights tool. This role will operationalize strategic priorities related to commercial leadership reporting in multiple formats (e.g. executive reports, training, key performance indicators (KPIs), insights generation).

This role will require developing strong partnerships with Commercial Business Unit (CBU) stakeholders, cross functional partners and vendors. This role is currently designed as an individual contributor, however there is an expectation of people management responsibilities in the future.

Responsibilities:

Data Plan Development:
1) Proactively sets vision and Insights & Analytics (I&A) BI plan for supporting CBUs. Independently leads team in identifying primary and secondary research, developing data strategy to ensure optimal alignment & coverage with CBU issues/goals/budgets.
2) Oversees the KPI process on marketed brands and able to field quick responses from CBU on data signals vs noise. Will lead efforts to institute a new KPI tracking process for new launch brands, including working in close partnership with Alliance partners on maintenance of report, business rules, etc.

Methods & Practices:
3) Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience utilizing broad range of secondary data sources (e.g. audited data, syndicated studies, claims databases, etc.), and experience in customizing to all geo levels (e.g. national, sub-national, regional, local) for specific requirements.
4) Experience in the use and application of reporting and business intelligence solutions/tools across a range of technical environments and platforms (MS Office, Qlik, Spotfire, SQL, Tableau, R/SAS, etc.). Able to coach a junior team on the use of these tools.
5) Experience implementing innovative and/or adapted approaches and techniques that reflect current and future best-in-class practice (e.g., cloud-based approaches, process automation, real-time dashboarding/delivery, data platforming frameworks, predictive analytics, machine learning, etc.). Able to coach a junior team on these innovative approaches.

Data Design, Execution & Delivery:
6) Demonstrates strong, working knowledge of all data preparation, quality control, compliance and reporting standards, and how various data types, both primary and secondary, can be integrated/harmonized from diverse and complex sources to enable analyses/decision-making at various geo levels (national, sub-national, regional, local, etc.).
7) Delivers timely and accurate extracts, reports and analytics interface, proactively addresses usage and training needs.

Analysis, Insights & Knowledge:
8) Well-versed in conducting "situation assessments" (e.g. overall business, CBU/brand, national/sub-national level across multiple data sources). Leads team in data synthesis process and assessment of implications and creation of recommendations/reports to address business issues and/or identify opportunities.
9) Demonstrates breakthrough thinking in uncovering core insights from secondary sources/KPIs & reports.

Requirements:

- BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred and a minimum of 10 years in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or health care related industry with a minimum of 5 years in health care;
- US experience with new drug launch required.
- Experience managing teams.
- Experience in biologic drugs including Oncology and Inflammation/Immunology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on working experience with IQVIA data (e.g. Xponent PlanTrak, DDD), 867 trade data, SPP dispense and patient status data, inclusive of utilizing within business intelligence solutions (e.g. Tableau, SAS, SQL)
- Prior experience with use of executive KPI metrics and reports

Preferred Experience:
- Experience in multiple therapeutic areas.
- Alliance or co-promotion experience strongly preferred.
- Experience on client (vendor management) and consulting side.
