The AbbVie Experiential Summer Intern Program is a paid, 12 week internship available in two sessions. Session 1 will start at the end of May (semester system) and session 2 will start in early June (quarter system). The program is focused on providing students with original pharmaceutical development projects, based on business need. You'll do meaningful work that has a real impact on our business and patients worldwide.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics leads the scientific, technical and strategic aspects in the areas of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and biopharmaceutics of drug development. The intern assignment will involve a systematic review of recently published literature on immuno-oncology trials and clinical results. The intern will also leverage data from an existing database, to conduct an analysis of clinical outcomes. In addition, the intern will review key non-clinical/pre-clinical attributes and clinical pharmacology characteristics of clinical immuno-modulators in oncology (IO) and populate an analysis-ready dataset. The intern will perform critical analysis of the dataset to draw inferences on the impact on clinical PK/PD of the IO modulators based on the molecular, non-clinical and preclinical properties.

  • Strong academic performance. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (4.0 Scale)
  • At least a 2 nd or 3 rd year PhD student in pharmaceutical sciences with specialization/strong background in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Modeling.
  • Must have training or experience with NONMEM and R.
  • Return to university for at least 1 semester post-internship
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now and in the future (Students on an F1 visa with CPT can be considered for the Experiential Intern Program)
