Project Description: Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions, including eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol and rare inflammatory conditions. The Large Scale Manufacturing department at our Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) site in Rensselaer, New York, utilizes a mechanical application of science in order to facilitate the manufacturing of biological products in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. The Large Scale Manufacturing department is seeking an enthusiastic intern, who is pursuing a degree in a science discipline - particularly in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a similar degree. This internship involves assisting the Large Scale Manufacturing department, while working closely with the EHS department in all aspects of Large Scale Manufacturing's environmental, health, and safety program.

This includes, but is not limited to the following;

• Preparing for voluntary and scheduled audits.

• Working with both the Manufacturing and EHS department with reviewing, updating, and posting various Manufacturing based EHS programs, policies, and training materials.

• Use of various multi-media formats to develop and create visual aids, communication, and training materials.

• Participation in facility inspection to detect potential EHS hazards, and the implementation of corrective actions.

• Assisting management in accident investigations to determine root causes, and the implementation of corrective actions.

• Special projects as assigned, such as risk assessment, communication, behavioral based safety, knowledge management, and various others.

• Perform routine data/trend analysis, research, and presentations.
