The Regional Business Development Director is a core team member of the Sales team. The Business Development Director position is field-based, working from a home office. This is a relationship and consultative based position, with success defined by how well the team member leverages contacts and scientific data to accelerate the evaluation, validation, and adoption of our proprietary bio-preservation media products in the acquisition, storage, manufacture, distribution and administration of cell and gene therapies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extensive travel to develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and current customers.
  • Attendance and presentations at regional and national trade shows and scientific conferences.
  • Managing product evaluations initial qualification of our products in customer manufacturing processes.
  • Leveraging relationships to introduce members of our scientific team to key decision makers.
  • Regular weekly reporting of field activities and follow up.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to Vice President of Sales

Job Requirements:

  • Proven success in a business development role working in the life science industry.
  • Written and verbal communication proficiency
  • Strong presentation skills (individual and group presentations)
  • Time and Territory management skills- to include large geography management Up to 80% travel in a defined geography Quarterly business review and update presentations to Senior Management Group.
  • Strong business tool experience and skills to include the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Job Specifications:

  • Education: BS degree in business, marketing, cellular and molecular biology, biomedical engineering or chemistry.
  • Software: Demonstrable experience with CRM software is required. SalesForce experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 5 plus years of Business Development and or Sales experience in Life Sciences. Experienced candidates with contacts and work experience in the cell and gene therapy market will be given priority and preference.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 80%. Frequent travel outside of local area and overnights. Some International travel may be required.
