IP ADMINISTRATOR/PARALEGAL
Position Summary:
The IP Administrator/Paralegal will support the Vice President, Intellectual Property and Senior Patent Agent with a focus on Patent prosecution and some trademark matters. The IP Administrator/Paralegal will report to the Vice President, Intellectual Property.

Position Summary:
The IP Administrator/Paralegal will support the Vice President, Intellectual Property and Senior Patent Agent with a focus on Patent prosecution and some trademark matters. The IP Administrator/Paralegal will report to the Vice President, Intellectual Property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review all incoming and outgoing correspondence and extract information that need to be entered into Company's web-based docketing database (Foundation IP)
- Maintain and update docketing system in a timely manner; prepare docket and patent portfolio reports
- Organize and maintain electronic patent and trademark prosecution files and records in cloud-based file management system (Box)
- Work with annuity payment provider and outside counsel to ensure timely payment of patent annuities and maintenance fees
- Work with the IP team and outside counsel to ensure accuracy and completeness of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS)
- Assist US and foreign counsels in completion of formalities related to patent filings including execution of declaration, assignments, POAs, etc.; liaise with inventors to obtain signatures and ensure these documents are received and filed in an accurate and timely manner
- Work with the IP legal team to develop, implement, and maintain docketing processes, procedures and policies for patents, and patent applications
- Assist the IP team in preparation of 3-year IP budget forecast and maintain IP budget tracking sheet
- Perform additional projects and administrative tasks (including set up meetings) as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of patent prosecution experience (US and foreign), 5+ years of experience as patent paralegal experience preferred; familiar with US, PCT, foreign patent prosecution processes and deadlines; in-house experience in life sciences company preferred; trademark experience preferred
- Experience in using electronic docketing system preferred (Foundation IP docketing software experience preferred)
- Proficient in MSWord, Outlook, and PowerPoint; strong Excel skills preferred
- Excellent writing, organizational, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressures, and to communicate effectively
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently and with others
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the company's affairs
- Actively participate in team projects and provide deliverables on an agreed timeline
- Comfortable in a paperless environment with electronic only patent files
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to flex in a frequently shifting environment
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
