SENIOR MANAGER, FORECASTING AND NATIONAL ANALYTICS

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Forecasting & National Analytics will be responsible for delivery of all forecasting process/initiatives, including the 3-year budget and 20-year long range plan (LRP). This includes implementation of processes to both support decision-making process as it relates to key strategies and increase the overall effectiveness across the Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing functions. This individual will report directly to the Forecasting & National Analytics Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for complete, accurate, and timely forecasts. This role requires close collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners
  • Responsible for effectively executing on GBT's forecasting governance and processes
  • Delivers annual 3 year (and interim updates) as well as annual long-range planning and forecast
  • Responsible for revenue and supply/demand forecasts in support of financial planning processes, i.e., Operating Reviews and budgeting processes
  • Responsible for delivering all aspects of new launch, inline and portfolio forecasts including developing and maintaining epidemiology and prescription-based models
  • Develop evidence-based forecast scenarios in driving strategic decisions. Carry out base-case and scenario analyses (TPP's, launch year, market share, price, sales ramp, etc.) to support decision making by key partners and stakeholders including Commercial, Business Development/Strategy, Finance, Manufacturing, and executive leadership, Board of Directors, etc
  • Conduct and incorporate ad hoc analyses of forecast sensitivity which may involve estimates of monthly demand for in-line products using weekly data and/or risk and opportunity sizing
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure inputs and assumptions are captured and documented in forecasts, drives alignment on financial projections, and secures approval from senior and executive leadership
  • Incorporate the results of primary research into the forecast model(s) to reflect anticipated risks and opportunities
  • Use appropriate forecast methodologies (which may include patient flow forecast models, patient based forecast models, and/or statistical trending)
  • Ensure that forecasts address the impact of market dynamics and critical events, are logically designed and well documented
  • Develop new analytical methods to facilitate management's ability to make strategic decisions
  • Identify key business issues that impact short-term and long-range product and market forecasts; clearly and pro-actively surface these issues
  • Lead national-level performance reporting and diagnostics including reconciliation with forecasts; will own national analytics data sets; will partner with Sales Analytics and Market Research counterparts on key business analysis (proactive and reactive), in responding to key business questions and in commercial reporting and launch tracking/monitoring
  • Present findings and make recommendations to management regarding: brand, market growth, inventory dynamics, patient incidence, prevalence, diagnosis, treatment trends, competition and payer environment
  • The selected candidate will have demonstrated excellence in consensus building, characterizing and communicating uncertainty, and be able to explain issues from aggregate trends to modeling mechanics
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects by working collaboratively across product teams and other functional departments

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' Degree, MS, or other related graduate-level degree is a plus
  • 5+ years forecasting models and structured data in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry (which may include work as a consultant or supplier to the industry)
  • This position requires solid expertise in analytics, forecasting, modeling and a high level understanding of CI and market research
  • Experience forecasting for launch products and supporting rare diseases are highly desirable
  • Must be well experienced in collaboration/partnering with multiple functions to ensure thorough triangulation of customer and market insights into Forecasting process and modeling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong ability to summarize results from disparate sources in a concise manner for senior management
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Excel) to present quantitative data in graphical form is required
  • Proven history of working and delivering on multiple projects simultaneously, with tight deadlines and changing priorities is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams is required
  • Self-starter, reliable team player with strong initiative and the ability to thrive in high-intensity, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong communication/influencing skills required.
