Job Details

DCTD - ADRD/DCTD, in support of NCI/DCTD, facilitates paths of unique molecules, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic interventions to clinical applications, including distinct molecular signatures for cancer, refined molecular assays, and state-of-the-art imaging techniques that are too high-risk for industry or academia to pursue

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Secretary I will:
  • Provide daily secretarial support to DCTD
  • Place blanket orders directly with vendors, enter purchase requests into DELTEK (internal purchasing system), and place credit card orders by telephone and/or Internet
  • Confirm and communicate all order confirmations
  • Communicate all order statuses with the scientific and administrative personnel
  • Complete reoccurring credit card reconciliation
  • Weekly reporting on closing out open purchase orders
  • Review and work within Administrative SharePoint site
  • Maintain journal subscriptions and memberships for DCTD
  • Properly complete required government forms for procurement of laboratory/office supplies and travels
  • Maintain documents in an organized manner
  • Sort and distribute interoffice mail.
  • Receive calls, transfer calls and manage electronic communications appropriately and professionally
  • Entered travel authorizations and expense reports into Deltek T&E and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Create conference room schedule for scientific and administrative personnel

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
  • A minimum of one (1) year clerical/secretarial experience
  • Experience with Windows, MS Office including Word/Excel
  • Knowledge of the use of proper English/grammar/spelling/punctuation
  • Maintaining files and active records

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deltek, SharePoint, Cost Point, Access and database experience

Expected Competencies:
  • Ability to deal tactfully with the public
  • Communicate office problems tactfully
  • Coordinate office activities with other administrative team members
