Oncology and Translational Sciences Intern, Summer 2019

Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

This student will work in Oncology and Translational Sciences in Basking Ridge, NJ. The student will first learn the drug development process, become familiar with study essential documents, learn the basics of data cleaning, and learn RECIST (APPENDIX 1. RESPONSE EVALUATION CRITERIA IN SOLID TUMORS: RECIST GUIDELINE) and review tumor assessment.

The student will then apply the knowledge and technique to (2) studies:
1)Anti-PD 1 antibody in a phase 3 study

• Check if treatment related AEs were managed accordingly with protocol guideline for both IC chemo and cemiplimab

• Study cancer histology distribution in different geographic regions

• Learn to review all prior therapies in conjunction with cancer diagnosis

• Clean tumor assessment data

2)Anti-PD 1 antibody fist-in-human

• Learn to assess by hand BOR (best overall response) and DOR (duration of response)

• Learn to assess OS (overall survival) by hand

• (Both are for some expansion cohorts with different indications and different treatment combinations)

• Must be a graduate or PharmD student

• Must be pursuing a degree in a STEM field

• Must have strong analytical and logical thinking ability

• Must have experience with Microsoft Excel or equivalent

• Must have strong self-teach ability

General Intern Program Information:

• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD

• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid

• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)

• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!
