Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior R&D Specialist to join the Analytical Team in Formulation Development Group. The successful candidate will support and contribute to the development, optimization, qualification and transfer (internal and external) of LC and/or CE based analytical methods used in the IND enabling stability and formulation development studies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in analytical method development, protein characterization and LC/CE based methods. Experience with formulation development, statistical analysis, rheology, and particle analysis is a plus. The successful candidate should also have excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to design and troubleshoot experiments independently.
Responsibilities
• Develop, quality and implement analytical methods to support stability and various formulation development studies
• Write and review technical documents supporting analytical development and regulatory filings, including analytical method procedures (SOPs) and method development reports
• Participate in general lab instrument maintenance and perform trouble shooting independently
• Evaluate, interpret and present data at group and team meetings
• Bring in new ideas from the literature or external practices and propose alternative approaches
• Maintain accurate and complete laboratory record.
• Provide training to junior analysts.
• Collaborate with other team members in Formulation Development Group and other functional groups at Regeneron in supporting the program development
Requirements
Experience and Education:
• BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field with ≥4 years of research experience, or MS degree in the afore mentioned fields with ≥2 years of hands-on research experience
Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of the principles and concepts of HPLC/UPLC and CE-based separation methods commonly used for biologics product development
• Extensive experience in analytical method development, optimization, validation, and trouble shooting
• A working knowledge of QbD principles and the application of statistical approaches to method development and qualification is preferable
• Experience in particle analysis techniques such as HIAC and MFI, compendial methods used to assess drug product and biophysical techniques such as Raman, FTIR, DSC and DLS is desirable
• Prior experiences in early and/or late stage formulation development or experiences in the areas of protein chemistry, statistical analytical, and mass spectrometry are highly desirable
