Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

The Amgen Early Development group in Medical Sciences support the design and manage operational activities related to the planning, implementation, and reporting of results of of phase 0-1 and 1b clinical trials in varying therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, inflammation, neuroscience and healthy volunteer.

The intern will be assigned to work with multiple clinical research study management teams and may engage in the following activities:
  • Gain a general knowledge of GCP, ICH, and Amgen process in the conduct of Early Development clinical trials
  • Contribute to team and study deliverables such as pharmacy manuals, informed consent forms, site training materials, and review of clinical trial data trends
  • Participate in a longitudinal project that assesses or helps address a need for the department
  • Conduct at least 1 lecture for clinical research staff in Early Development on pharmacy topics that impact our clinical trials
  • Gain experience working in clinical trial management teams to better assess the direction of their career path


Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy candidate in the third year or above of their professional division studies

Ability to think critically & work independently

Strong attention to detail

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Experience in Excel, Web design, Sharepoint online
