We currently have an opening for a Program Manager, Director who will report to the Head of Program and Alliance Management. 

About The Role

SpringWorks Therapeutics is seeking an experienced leader in R&D Portfolio Management to provide an integrated, cross-functional planning view for early and late stage development programs, apply strategic and analytic support to inform decision-making, and shape optimal resource allocation in the R&D portfolio.   This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in the rapid growth phase of a transformative biopharmaceutical company.   The R&D Portfolio Management Leader will report to the Head of Program & Alliance Management.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Support development of the R&D strategy, goals, priorities and investment plans for internal and alliance programs 
  • Drive portfolio planning for new pipeline/lifecycle products including objectives, budget forecast, and resource allocation across R&D, Medical and CMC functional areas
  • Lead generation of the Operating Plan for R&D, Medical and CMC to achieve corporate strategic objectives 
  • Contribute drug development expertise and define processes that enable robust decision-making and portfolio recommendations for internal pipeline, lifecycle and alliance programs
  • Lead scenario planning and operational assessments to inform drug development and potential licensing/collaboration investment decisions
  • Work in close partnership with program managers and functional leaders to develop high performing teams and expedite delivery of transformative medicines to patients
  • Inform the operating model for new product development in support of strategic goals and priorities  
  • Support a positive team environment that builds trust, fosters accountability, encourages constructive challenge, cultivates innovation and learning, and ensures clear communications
  • Define key portfolio metrics and conduct benchmark data analyses to support transparent data and assumptions
  • Provide an integrated, cross-functional strategic overview and insights of the R&D portfolio
  • Prepare reports and present progress for portfolio goals, budget forecast and performance measures
  • Build portfolio capabilities and manage processes for planning, forecasting, modeling, risk analyses and resource management  

About You: Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech portfolio, program and alliance management including late stage drug development, regulatory filings, product launch
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in a leadership role building high performing portfolio and/or program management teams (defining vision, long-term objectives, strategy)
  • Strategic capability, including the ability to identify the most relevant parameters driving a business decision; understanding of integrated project, portfolio and budget/resource management concepts
  • Team player with positive mindset; ability to listen and build highly collaborative relationships across functions
  • Expertise in drug development and the interdependencies of individual functional activities
  • Demonstrated experience in managing drug development alliance programs
  • Excellent technical / financial / analytical skills to assess the company’s portfolio of programs and new opportunities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in preparation of reports and presentations
  • Advanced capabilities in Portfolio and Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), dashboards, etc. to generate models and presentations for the R&D pipeline and investment opportunities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Science or related field

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience in rare disease and oncology is preferred
