Amgen is seeking a Global Website Product Owner, internally known as a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Systems Analyst, in our global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Global Website Product Owner will report to the Director of IS.

Currently, Amgen is developing a Website Delivery Product to rapidly transform how healthcare websites are created and managed to engage patients, caregivers, physicians and other stakeholders. The Global Website Product Owner works within an agile product delivery team to deliver the best online solutions for Amgen's innovative and industry-leading products.

Specifically, the Global Website Product Owner is responsible setting, prioritizing, and evaluating work delivered from the website product scrum team to ensure the features and functionality of the products provide an effective and high-quality customer experience. Further, the incumbent understands and leverages existing Amazon cloud services, web content management platforms and digital customer engagement strategies to advance the agility, performance and innovation of Amgen's external websites

Responsibilities of the Global Website Product Owner includes:
  • Leads scrum teams as the Product Owner
  • Provides vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
  • Ensures that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Plans and prioritizes product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Defines product vision, road-map and growth opportunities
  • Assesses value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Provides backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
  • Works closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Leads the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Researches and analyzes market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
  • Follows our competitors and the industry
  • Stays abreast of Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner
  • MA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Some knowledge of customer facing website creation and operations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills as well as command of oral/written English
