The Talent Management Program Manager reports to the head of global Talent Management. The Manager will collaborate with HR leaders and colleagues to enhance rigor for and support the design, development, and execution of global Talent Management processes and initiatives. The Manager will have program management responsibility for global processes in the disciplines of performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews. This includes on-going consultation on and input into HR Systems (Workday) functionality required to support the implementation, global scalability, and sustainability of these processes. Also, responsible to stay informed of research and best practices and essential benchmarks and provide innovative, impactful ideas to enhance tools and processes to support Amgen's Best Place for Talent initiatives. Serve as program manager in the design and development of innovative global Talent Management programs and processes to drive change and strengthen the depth and diversity of global talent. Provide consultation on specific phases of global Talent Management processes such as performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews. Conduct needs analyses, outline operational requirements, and translate these into tangible Talent Management programs. Balance system and philosophy; translate critical Talent Management philosophy and needs into sustainable processes that are supported by the HR systems (Workday), in collaboration with HR Technology colleagues. Oversee HR systems user testing and review to ensure Talent Management processes are functioning appropriately (in Workday), in collaboration with HR Technology colleagues. Provide training and guidance to HR colleagues on HR systems functionality (in Workday) from a Talent Management perspective, in collaboration with HR Technology colleagues. Manage the implementation, coordination, and ongoing execution of a global performance management process in collaboration with other key HR Centers of Excellence. Provide direct oversight of external vendor partners and/or contract workers assigned to relevant projects and initiatives within scope of responsibility. Develop and deliver a variety of communications, training materials, tools, and resources for both HR and the broader organization to support global transformation of performance management, succession, and talent reviews. Use proven project management and program management methodologies to deliver and sustain Talent Management programs. Utilize innovative practices, research, insight, experience and understanding of the needs and culture of Amgen to develop and deliver global performance management process and other Talent Management initiatives. Support global communication and change management regarding Talent Management strategies and initiatives to drive impact and understanding. Develop project plans and/or other tactics to ensure projects are documented, executed and sustained. Support methods to report on analytics that measure the effectiveness of Talent Management initiatives and programs. Keep current on trend in Talent Management with a focus on performance management, succession planning, and talent review (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts).

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Human Resources experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, or Learning and Development.
  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology or Organizational Development.
  • Experience with implementation and/or configuration of integrated HR systems/technology (i.e., Workday).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs and best practice insights to inform design and configuration of HR systems/technology (i.e., Workday).
  • Experience with vendor management and/or providing direct oversight of contract workers.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with experience managing large projects on a global scale involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner in creating big picture strategies and bring them to life in day-to-day activities.
  • Experience building and delivering Talent Management programs in a global organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding how to use data to inform program design.
  • Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Self-directed and willing to take informed risks.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
