Amgen is seeking a Sitecore Website Architect, internally known as a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Architect, in our global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Sitecore Website Architect will report to the Director of IS.

Currently, Amgen is developing a Website Delivery Product to rapidly transform how healthcare websites are created and managed to engage patients, caregivers, physicians and other stakeholders. The Sitecore Website Architect will be a part of an agile product delivery team and will be responsible for leading the technology design for the development and operation of solutions and platforms that enable website delivery agility, resiliency and innovation to improve the digital experience for Amgen's customers.

Specifically, the Sitecore Website Architect understands and leverages existing AWS cloud environments, web content management systems and continuous integration/deployment applications that enable website build teams to increase speed and quality to market for online content. This leader is accountable for ensuring projects and market activities are attuned to Amgen's technology strategy and will leverage a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile delivery methods, web content management systems and the ability to implement and execute standard software architecture practices.

Responsibilities of the Sitecore Website Architect includes:
  • Drives technology architecture and provides architectural solutions/designs to development teams to implement and achieve business outcomes
  • Develops long range architecture strategy and roadmaps
  • Leads project architecture efforts and choices and works with IT and non-technology stakeholders to understand business needs
  • Collaborates with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features
  • Advises and shapes delivery estimation and team structures through each Product Increment
  • Supports multiple Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production
  • Drives a common architectural point of view across teams, and support outcomes
  • Delivers Website Delivery Product assets such as detailed design documentation and features
  • Assists team members with problem resolution


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems and/or IS Architecture experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems and/or IS Architecture experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or IS Architecture experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or IS Architecture experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of IT industry experience, preferably within architecture
  • 8+ years of consulting experience
  • 8+ years in Microsoft .Net Development
  • Experienced at leading Sitecore migrations
  • Demonstrable expertise in Sitecore CMS
  • Sitecore certification
  • Knowledgeable of Solr and Tomcat
  • Knowledgeable of Apache a plus
  • 5+ years technical team leadership or management experience
  • Deep technical skills with websites and be capable of serving as a subject matter expert
  • Strong presentation skills and command of oral/written English
