Job Details
The intern will be assigned a project within the Pricing and Contracting function supporting product portfolio pricing, discounting, and contracting strategies. Projects are timely and relevant in supporting Amgen's strategic and tactical goals and provide exposure to the cross-functional nature of a full-time role. A key project will involve analysis of historical product market share in relation to access and pricing strategies to determine return on investment strategies for future customer negotiations and future product launches.
Responsibilities for the 10-12 week internship typically include claim analysis, financial analysis, database queries, benchmarking, and market research to develop key strategic recommendations. Interns are given access to senior leadership through a series of lunches and are encouraged to spend the summer participating in program activities and networking with staff across the organization. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program for a MBA internship from an accredited college or university
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree concentration(s) in Healthcare Management, Management Consulting, Finance, Marketing, Business Management or related field
- In process of completing the first year of a Master of Business Administration program
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
- Strong leadership ability and a team player
