Job Summary

Amgen is seeking a Compliance Manager who will be responsible for executing the Healthcare Compliance (HCC) monitoring program across various business activities within Commercial, Medical, Value & Access or other business areas, as per the annual monitoring plan. The Compliance Manager supports in carrying out the operations of the Healthcare Compliance Monitoring program. The Compliance Manager will report directly to the Director of Healthcare Compliance Monitoring.

The Healthcare Compliance Monitoring program is responsible for the process of checking and measuring healthcare compliance related performance relative to business activity areas to ensure achievement of operational and/or compliance objectives that account for specific legal risk areas.

Key Responsibilities for the Compliance Manager include:
  • Perform field and transaction review monitoring (Ad Boards, Speaker Programs, Field Rides, Exhibits, etc.) across business areas to identify inappropriate conduct, to ensure that conduct complies with federal/state laws and Amgen policies and to achieve overall monitoring program objectives
  • Engages with appropriate business and compliance personnel to continuously learn about products, therapeutic areas, emerging risks
  • Gathers, reviews and analyzes data across key business activities to identify outliers, trends, patterns, risk indicators or other compliance related issues
  • Applies judgement, experience and professional scepticism over monitored activities in uncovering compliance issues, their potential significance
  • Effectively plan, coordinate, and conduct U.S. HCC monitoring in accordance with the monitoring plan approved by the Chief Compliance Officer
  • Develop partnership and collaboration with HCC Audit, Global Healthcare Compliance Operations (GHCCOps), Healthcare Compliance Leads, Law, Investigations, and Policy, Training and Communications (PTC) groups
  • Communicate monitoring results to business process owners and senior management
  • Managing day-to-day compliance related questions and issues
  • Ensure policies and standards are understood and followed
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ensure alignment and proper communication and training around systems and guidance
  • Travel up to 60% within US


Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree and 2 years of Compliance experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Compliance experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Compliance experience

Preferred Attributes:
  • Relevant compliance or professional certifications: (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP))
  • Knowledge and understanding of Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of American (PhRMA) Code, U.S. Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, current Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIAs), Prescription Drug Marketing Act, FDA rules and regulations governing scientific exchange, and U.S. Federal and State transparency reporting requirements
