Today's breakthroughs in science, genomics and medicine, as well as in digital health and data analytics may enable an unprecedented ability to identify and treat high-risk patients earlier to improve outcomes and quality of life. However, the current healthcare system forms a significant impediment and is unsustainable; it fixes what is broken instead of predicting and preventing catastrophic health events. A fundamental realignment is necessary towards a system that intervenes earlier in appropriate patients to improve outcomes and quality of life. It will take collaboration between forward-thinking companies to drive this change. With our mission to serve patients and our science and products providing tremendous value, Amgen is uniquely positioned to take on a leading role and is committed towards moving towards a Predict & Prevent model of healthcare. The Predict & Prevent initiative, led by the Global Value-Based Partnership team, will initiate complex, multi-year, cross-therapeutic area experiments, partnerships, and alliances that may help to shape the external environment, ultimately "bending the curve" of the entire healthcare system by alleviating the impact of chronic diseases and cancer.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving the ideation, business case development, execution, and management of these Predict & Prevent experiments. The successful candidate will lead a diverse cross- functional team to ideate, prioritize, manage, and timely execute collaborative projects with strategic external partners on a day to day basis. He/she will gather, analyze, and synthesize information across a variety of sources to turn unstructured business issues and requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables. The successful candidate will also provide thoughtful and effective reports and presentations that clearly summarize status, issues, implications and recommendations to key stakeholders to inform and communicate decision making. Successful candidates will spend ~18-30 months managing a portfolio of cross-therapeutic area Predict & Prevent experiments, interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders to drive towards the experiment objectives.

The Senior Manager will:
  • Lead a cross functional team (including Reimbursement Access & Value (RAV), Brand, Global Health Economics (GHE), Centers for Observational Research (CfOR), Medical, Organized Customer Team (OCT), and Digital Health to define and execute high value experiments with external partners.

  • Act as a thought partner to Predict & Prevent team leaders
  • Lead meetings with external partners to manage projects and ensure that they stay on timelines, as well as provide planning, logistical support, and project management expertise
  • Ensure experiment success by managing risks, removing roadblocks, and appropriately and quickly escalating issues
  • Evaluate and disseminate project results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and evolution of the Predict & Prevent initiative plan, including the timely execution of initiative milestones
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and stakeholders by proactively seek buy-in and providing on-going support to address business needs
