SUMMARY

Amgen is searching for Undergrad Coop to support the Learning & Performing Department in a six months assignment starting in March 2019. This role will report to a Sr Manager and will be based on Amgen Manufacturing Limited Juncos' site. As per Business needs, the assignment can be extended up to one year.

The Undergrad Coop will work closely with a team of Industrial Engineers and Functional Area managers. Student will have the opportunity to support the performance improvements of critical processes in Amgen Manufacturing Limited through the use of Industrial Engineering concepts and tools.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Perform time studies of the Amgen Manufacturing Limited site in the Quality and services processes to develop/update capacity and workforce models.

Identify and implement improvement initiatives to impact productivity, inventories and delivery times.

In addition will support the following:
  • Lead waste and cycle time reduction initiatives
  • Develop /update excel models
  • Perform other IE related tasks required like area layouts, workstation designs, and statistical analyses


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.

At Least 3.00 GPA (General).

Have completed at least 3 years of college education.

Be enrolled in College

Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BSIE student who has completed the following courses: Work Measurement and Work Stations Design.

Experience performing time studies and workforce models.

Good interpersonal and leadership skills.

Able to work with minimum supervision.

Well Organized.

Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processes.

Proficient in the following software: Minitab, MS Excel, Vizio, MS Power Point, MS Project.

Availability for a six months and/or one year assignment.
