GRANTS MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Grants Manager for Community Engagement & Partnership (CE&P) will report directly to the Senior Director, Community Engagement & Partnership (CE&P). The key responsibilities of the role are to serve as liaison to community partners and internal stakeholders representing diverse functions to administer the CBO, charitable and Foundation funding request management process in compliance with all applicable policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulations. This person is responsible for establishing and maintaining compliant and efficient work streams and operations to support the funding process. Individual leads local event material development, logistics and participation coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and administer all funding requests, which includes but is not limited to intake, screening for completeness of submissions, dissemination, review, approval, notification and generation of progress reports
• Assist the Senior Director, Community Engagement & Partnership in the execution of short- and long-term operational Plans to support GBT's objectives, including (but not limited to): development, implementation, and maintenance of program work flows, systems and processes, training of cross-functional partners involved in the program, liaising with external stakeholders as necessary, developing and managing internal progress metrics, budgets, policies and reports and interfacing with cross-functional team members to ensure collaboration and transparency
• Liaise and coordinate activities with the Medical Affairs, Finance, Compliance, Legal and Clinical teams, as necessary
• Ensure information and records/documents collected for requests are complete, accurate and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the requests
• Organize and plan for all committee meetings, including assisting in the pull-through of follow-up activities
• Manage any vendors/partners and foundations supporting the execution of the programs
• Provide applicable metrics to assist in the development of financial forecasting/tracking for program budgets
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of program SOPs and policies as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant internal GBT SOPs and policies
• Lead the development and implementation of short and long-term strategies to integrate and advance support services offered to the sickle cell community
• Develop program tracker and engage and coordinate medical affairs team local event participation
• Partner with CE&P digital team to provide meeting information to incorporate into social media
• Manage material development and logistics for local events

Qualifications:

This individual must have prior experience working with funding requests and foundation support. He/she must be a good decision maker, highly effective in process management, collaboration, customer focus and problem-solving. The successful candidate will have orphan disease experience.

• For bachelor's degree holders, a minimum of 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry; for those with a nursing, masters or doctoral degree, 3 years' experience
• Thorough understanding of the compliance and legal landscapes, prior experience with strategic giving, non-profit engagement, Foundation oversight, and general understanding of US non-profits
• Knowledgeable about processes with attention to detail and superior follow-through
• Demonstrated ability to confidently work under pressure and concurrently manage multiple responsibilities
• Work independently and handle special projects while at same time demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Initiative to solve problems and identify appropriate solutions in accordance with SOPs and policies
• Excellent interpersonal and exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Comfort with financial forecasting and reporting and experience working with systems: development, testing, implementation, enhancements and reporting
• Familiarity working within a non-profit organization and the rules that govern 501c3s and Foundations
• Able to travel 20-30% of the time
