Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating inter-departmental activities related to assigned projects.  This individual will actively participate in the development of project plans and timelines and document project progress as part of the collaborative research and product development process.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Translate program objectives into project plans
  • Optimize timeline and resources to achieve program objectives
  • Measure project progress
  • Collaborate with team and functional lines to help mitigate and resolve issues
  • Identify potential problems and communicate them to the team lead and/or supervisor and senior management
  • Assist in the development of tools for standard project management reporting
  • Anticipate team dynamics; foster teamwork and develop strong working relationships with key individuals throughout the organization
  • This role has no direct reports, however:
    • Manages people and other resources indirectly as part of cross functional team delegation, required to complete the project
  • If necessary, liaise with external partners/vendors:  manage joint meetings, timeline coordination, central line of communication for technical matters, etc.
  • Other duties as specified by supervisor/management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience managing Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical projects of various levels
  • Demonstrated success managing projects
  • Knowledge of the Drug Development process from discovery through IND submission and Clinical Development
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, quality and regulatory issues associated with the product development lifecycle
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals from different disciplines
  • Must be a critical analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational & self-management skills
  • Proactive & self-directed
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
