Summary
The Metabolic and Muscle Disease Group at Regeneron is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat metabolic and muscle disorders. We are seeking someone with strong command of molecular and cellular biology and in vivo pharmacology to study gut-brain-liver interactions for metabolic diseases and provide validation for new projects. The candidate would be responsible for providing scientific direction, technical expertise and leadership, and will coordinate activities with other groups across the organization.

Responsibilities
Perform in vitro and in vivo studies to advance our understanding of the biology of the gut-brain-liver axis and understand how genetic variants in gut expressed genes confer risk or protection from metabolic diseases. The studies will help identify new targets and support drug development.

Requirements
Technical skills
Broad experience in molecular and cellular biology and in vivo pharmacology is essential.

Experience and Required Skills
PhD or MD with strong scientific credentials. Candidates with expertise in metabolic, neurological or liver disorders are preferred.

Experience and Required Skills:
The candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• PhD and/or MD with a minimum of three years of research.

• Strong scientific credentials.

• Knowledge of technologies and approaches to support drug discovery programs.

• Strong command of academic or applied research efforts and scientific literature.

• Candidates with expertise in metabolic, neurological or liver disorders are preferred.

The successful candidate will be a decisive and results-oriented individual who is flexible, team-oriented, creative and able to excel in a multi-project, fast-track environment. The incumbent will be a strategic thinker who collaborates with project teams, peers and management in identifying and achieving discovery goals from both scientific and strategic perspectives.

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.

Level will be commensurate with experience.
