Scientist - Antibody Generation
Pionyr Immunotherapeutics is a growing South San Francisco-based immuno-oncology company focused on novel approaches to generate anti-tumor immunity.
Pionyr is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated candidate for a full-time Scientist position in the Antibody Generation group.
The candidate will have an opportunity to play an integral role in advancing our therapeutic candidates into the clinic and supporting target discovery efforts.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in antibody generation approaches using hybridoma and/or B-cell cloning approaches, and will be responsible for designing immunization strategies, performing hybridoma fusion or B-cell cloning approaches, and executing antibody screens and characterizing candidate antibodies using assays including ELISA, flow cytometry, and other binding or functional approaches.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and execute antibody generation campaigns, including immunization strategy, antibody screening, and antibody characterization.
- Develop and optimize protocols for antibody discovery approaches using in vivo immunization.
- Implement antibody binding screens, including ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR, and incorporate functional assays as needed.
- Characterize lead antibodies based on binding, epitope, functional activity, and sequence.
- Analyze data and present findings in team meetings.
- Collaborate closely with biology project leaders to progress discovery projects
- Multi-task and deliver results under defined timelines.
- Remain up-to-date with current state-of-the art antibody discovery approaches, and implement new optimized technologies as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in immunology or related field with minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience, industry experience is desirable, experience with B-cell biology and analyzing humoral responses is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with antibody generation using hybridoma and/or B-cell cloning approaches is required.
- Experience with antibody binding assays including ELISA and flow cytometry is required, and experience with SPR-based binding assays is desirable.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
