AbbVie is looking for a Business Minded information technology individual. The candidate must be passionate about working with data and desire to influence the business through offering thoughtful analysis and meaningful insights. The role requires an extremely analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex and nuanced problems through the exploration of data and how it is related with other sets of data and putting it in context to convert it into information. You will collaborate with business intelligence, sales and marketing professionals to understand the insights and intelligence they require to understand and be able to structure and define data that can generate those insights.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a data expert to cross-functional teams, enabling informed decisions and business outcomes
  • Apply analytical/statistical methods to provide stakeholders with analysis, insight and direction that will move the needle on key performance indicators and metrics
  • Evangelize data stewardship, pursue data quality and relentlessly drive data issues to resolution
  • Be able to understand data sources and structures and how they relate to combine various sources of data and translate them into contextual meaningful insights
  • Be a quick learner, understand the essence of the data quickly and its applicability to various business outcomes
  • Help articulate KPI definitions and Metrics in a meaningful manner which can be designed by the technical delivery organization
  • Partner closely with the Data Management & Integration and MDM teams to deliver end to end analytical capabilities to AbbVie's OUS business.
  • Be the face of the BTS Business Analytics & Data Management Organization.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Understands the pharmaceutical industry, key stakeholders and the challenges faced in delivering overall quality of life for patients.
    • Ability to engage with business partners in a "business outcomes and challenges" conversation and not just a technical conversation.
    • Anticipates and recommends technical solutions to business problems.
    • Provides accountability for effectiveness of systems solutions relative to business requirements.
    • Ensures that BTS solutions meet the needs of the business and complies with defined lifecycle and standards.
  • Strategic Thinking:
    • Partners with key stakeholders and uses understanding of business to drive the focus on external stakeholder technology solutions, including measurements of outcomes and KPIs.
    • Stimulates creativity and innovation in others. Open to new ideas. Supports those who initiate change and take risks.
  • Project Delivery:
    • Execute a project plan ensuring that all activities are performed on time andper expectations
    • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management.
  • Leading People:
    • Responsible for all aspects of people management (employee or contract)
    • Confronts and deals with employees and contract worker issues in a constructive and timely manner
  • Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company

Basic:
  • 5+ Years of experience in information analysis, business intelligence, reporting and/or data modeling.
  • Experience working closely with key business leaders to manage information analysis and requirements for pharmaceutical companies.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • IT experience supporting commercial functions
    • Information modeling and data modeling.
    • Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical data (commercial, multichannel, Patient support programs)
    • Knowledge of Developed and developing markets
    • Prior Experience working with structured and unstructured data highly preferable
  • Creatively applies knowledge of IT concepts and engineering methods to solve problems
  • Explores alternatives and ideas that provide value to internal customers
  • Builds relationships. Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors by establishing rapport, developing an understanding of others' needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments

  • Business Acumen
  • Ability to interact with business colleagues in non-IT conversations.
  • Understanding/expertise in definition and implementation of digital blueprint for pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
  • Engineering, Science, or advanced digital marketing degree or equivalentis desired or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 3/5+ years of significant IT Consultancy or IT Professional experience.
  • Fluent English is requested
  • Attend regular departmental meetings with manager/supervisor to build in continuous feedback mechanisms.
  • Meet the requirements of ISO and Class A by complying with all relevant Quality policies and procedures to ensure the Quality objectives of the business are met.
  • Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimizing accidental exposures to self, colleagues and/or the environment.
