Job Details
These positions are in VI Next in Tarrytown, NY. There are 4 openings for Summer 2019. Each opening is described below.
Position 1:
The student will spend the summer in an advanced molecular biology lab working with large and small cloning vectors to capture specific alleles from the human genome. They will have the opportunity to learn how to design genomic targeting vectors and molecular lab techniques such as PCR, restriction digests and ligation, gibson assembly, Cas9 design and in vivo expression, and basic tissue culture.
Position 2:
The student will learn a greater understanding of immunology and molecular biology. PCR, cloning, transfections, Western blotting, and ELISA are just some of the skills that will be obtained.
Position 3:
Intern will work on experimental modeling of mice with a human immune system, particularly study development of human immune cells and improve functional development in a mouse model. Project will also study interaction of human immune cells with human and mouse stroma.
Position 4:
Our group focuses on the development of transgenic humanized mice and novel technology development. We are seeking highly motivated individuals that want to learn cutting edge molecular biology, genetics and immunology techniques. The goal of this project is to generate mouse models to understand the immune system function in health and disease.

• Must be an undergraduate or graduate student
• Must be pursuing a degree in Biology or related field
• Prior laboratory experience is preferred, including cell culture and flow cytometry
General Intern Program Information:
• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD
• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid
• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)
• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!
• Present to your team on your summer project
