Tenaya is a growing biopharmaceutical company with a goal to create a new generation of therapies for the treatment of heart disease. We are progressing our reprogramming gene therapy project towards a development candidate and IND filing. We are establishing target and drug discovery technologies including the development of a panel of iPSC-CMs representing human disease-causing mutations. Our mission is to become a preeminent biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing medicines to cure heart failure.
We are seeking a creative scientist with an interest in discovery and development of novel therapies to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to join a company at an early stage doing cutting edge basic and clinical science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a diverse range of biochemical and cell-based assays to characterize lead molecules and evaluate target function
- Assist with small- and large-scale recombinant protein purification using various chromatographic techniques
- Employ cutting edge molecular, cell, and biochemistry techniques to enhance drug discovery efforts
- Present findings in both small and large group company meetings

Requirements:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture and standard molecular techniques
- Experience with protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and AKTA based FPLC systems is a plus
- Experience culturing human pluripotent stem cells and/or primary cells is a plus
