AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA is seeking a Calibration Supervisor to join their team. The Calibration Supervisor will p lan, organize and execute a calibration program to ensure that calibration of equipment meets regulatory and business requirements. Manage the activities of calibration technicians in their group, along with available resources and contractors to ensure that all required scheduled and demand maintenance is performed as required to support customers. Provide direct support to their staff, in order to provide required services for equipment supported. Some project management as required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the process of scheduling resources and personnel to ensure all guidelines and policies are adhered to, and provide adequate customer service. Primary management interface for customers.
  • Own the calibration program and find opportunities to improve calibration effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage the training and continuous improvement of calibration skill for metrology technicians.
  • Processes OOT's (out of tolerance) investigations, audit responses, and corrective action.
  • Assures that all regulatory requirements are met and maintained to include FDA, GMP, OSHA, and ISO requirements, to allow manufacturing of Bio-Pharmaceutical products to market. The Instrumentation Supervisor can also be called on to be a subject matter expert during audits, or working with the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Support other departmental efforts. Specifically providing technical expertise, including audit, customer and engineering support, as requested. Primary management interface for other departments.
  • Manage stock requirements to ensure adequate supplies for required maintenance and provide technical expertise for stock room issues, as requested.
  • Manage cost to support budgetary requirements, including processing, review, approval and monitoring of purchase orders and maintenance requirements.
  • Personnel Management- Include all EH&S, HR and quality programs and policies as well as training and GMP Compliance.


Position will be hired based on level of experience.
  • Associates Degree in engineering or physical sciences; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of managerial experience
  • 8-10+ years of Related technical experience (Engineering, Maintenance, Instrumentation Service, Calibration and Metrology, etc.)
