Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for creating a vision for process analytics in drug product development, developing a strategy, building alignment with key stakeholders, and implementing the strategy leading to embedding process analytics in routine development to enable/facilitate drug product development and transfer. A second goal will be to develop process controls for mature processes.

The head of Process Analytics will lead and motivate an experienced team of engineers/ scientists to deliver on the process analytics strategy; be responsible for creating and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and collaboration, balancing innovation with operation.

The head of Process Analytics will work with his or her team to identify and integrate non-traditional process measurement techniques and controls into product development across small and large molecule assets in oral solid and parenteral products and processes.

The candidate will establish a strong, collaborative relationship with all key stakeholders within and outside Product Development (PD) and other functions key to the success of Drug Product Science & Technology and PD.

Qualifications:

Education preferred is Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry, applied physics, pharmaceutical sciences, electrical/biomedical/chemical engineering or related discipline.

Proven track record of creating visions and strategies to develop and implement non-traditional process measurement techniques and controls.

Working knowledge of spectroscopic methods, chemometrics, data analytics statistics, process control, and alternative analytical techniques.

Demonstrated ability to influence areas not under direct control, build alignment with business partners, work in a fluid environment, build strong relationships, and deliver on commitments.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, are critical to perform in this role.
