Summary
Regeneron is seeking a highly motivated and experienced in vivo biologist with a master's or bachelor's degree to join a group working on development of therapeutics for the treatment of infectious diseases. Incumbent should be highly skilled in in vivo mouse techniques and have experience carrying out experiments and performing data analysis with minimum supervision. Specific skills required include injections through multiple routes including IP, IV, IN, and sub-Q as well as organ harvest and blood collection via various routes. Experience with T-cell characterization and functional T-cell assays is highly desirable. Experience with mouse models of infectious disease is desirable. Experience with in vitro techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, and cell culture is preferred. Incumbent should be able to perform routine tasks involved in virus research, including basic safety procedures in a BSL2 environment. This position will involve working in a fast-paced, stimulating environment and is ideally suited for someone interested in greatly expanding their skills and knowledge base.
Responsibilities
Incumbent will function as an in-vivo lead on multiple projects. The ultimate goal is to design, validate and develop immunotherapeutic reagents for the treatment and/or prevention of virus infections.
In this role he or she will:
Maintain and culture viruses as necessary
Develop in vitro and in vivo models of virus infection
Perform basic immunological assays
Evaluate therapeutics in vitro using basic molecular biology/immunological assays.
Evaluate therapeutics in vivo using mouse models of infectious diseases
Requirements
• TECHNICAL SKILLS: In vivo mouse models, T-cell functional assays, ELISA, qPCR, cell culture, virus propagation.
• CORE COMPETENCIES: Incumbent should be well skilled in working with the mouse model and handling live animals. Experience in infectious disease models is preferred. Experience with T-cell assays is highly preferred. Understanding and previous experience on virology and immunology would be distinct advantages.
• Experience:
• Master's desired.
4-8 years of experience.
