Job Details
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides broadly based administrative and project management support to the Laboratory Animal Sciences Program.
- Assists in project workflow development and coordination with scientific, technical and administrative personnel within the program
- Manages projects by scheduling resources, monitoring progress and adherence to work scope, timelines and budgets.
- Tracks projects by milestones, including associated risks and budgets.
- Assists in development and documenting project management plans, project charters, requirements traceability matrix and work breakdown structures for various projects.
- Applies project management and database tools to project tracking, data collection, analysis and reporting, and operational metrics.
- Assists in performing financial management functions including budget monitoring, control and reporting.
- Conducts budget, cost and pricing analyses.
- Coordinates and prepares technical project proposals and cost estimates in response to task requests for research services.
- Participates in the maintenance of information management systems, scientific data collection, and report preparation.
- Coordinates personnel management activities including recruitment efforts.
- Participates in evaluation and documentation of resource requirements, such as laboratory equipment.
- Coordinates procurement of supplies, maintenance services and equipment for laboratories and animal holding facilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a field related to biomedical research i.e. biomedical science/bioinformatics/math/computers (qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education). Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- Minimum of one year related experience of technical and/or administrative experience related to biomedical research.
- Experience and skills in project management, database, spreadsheet, document processing and software applications.
- Ability to maintain precise, accurate records and data collection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in project management in a research industry.
- Financial management experieince in a research industry.
- Ability to independently identify and effectively resolve problems and render decisions and policy interpretations.
- Ability to interact effectively with technical, scientific, supervisory, management and administrative personnel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills with the ability to prepare reports, arrange meetings, and schedule and coordinate work
