The AbbVie Outsourcing COE mission is to partner with AbbVie stakeholders to develop and deliver the AbbVie outsourcing strategy and drive sustainable value through AbbVie's outsourcing relationships while mitigating the associated risks. The COE leads the development and implementation of governance infrastructure to ensure achievement of AbbVie's short term and long term outsourcing objectives, and establishes the enterprise risk mitigation strategy for outsourced activities across the enterprise. Team members in the COE work with internal stakeholders and business support functions to ensure that Service Providers are meeting the needs of the business and delivering the contracted value to AbbVie.


Role Summary
The Strategic IT Outsourcing Lead supports the AbbVie Outsourcing COE and internal stakeholders by providing oversight and governance of Outsourcing suppliers and the outsourced contractual arrangements for both ITO and BPO services. Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of OCOE, the OCA oversees OCOE's strategic vendors and executes Contract Management activities for assigned outsourcing engagements including contract changes, issue resolution, contract clarifications as part of provisioning and delivering the COE's outsourcing governance shared services model. The OCA is also responsible for supporting data privacy initiatives related to AbbVie outsourced engagements, and ensuring that all of the annual Contract Management objectives for the OCOE are completed and the stakeholders are satisfied with the Contract Management shared services they receive.


Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains mechanisms to track completion or adherence to all contract deliverables and obligations
  • Ensures overall process is being performed in alignment with the documented process
  • Provides guidance to personnel responsible for contract deliverables
  • Monitors contract deliverables & obligations and prompts service provider owners, as required
  • Provides contract deliverables & obligations activity reports, as required
  • Leads the development of contract documentation and engages Purchasing, Legal & other functions, as required
  • Ensures all contract requests are processed in a timely manner
  • Manages the contract change management process
  • Ensures overall process is being performed in alignment with the documented process & Contract Management best practices
  • Reviews and researches change requests to ensure a contract change is warranted
  • Coordinates the input from AbbVie and service provider personnel
  • Communicates final disposition of contract changes to stakeholders and service providers
  • Obtains applicable approvals and signatures
  • Facilitates the contract interpretation and clarification process.
  • Ensures overall process is being performed in alignment with the documented process
  • Receives all contract questions or interpretation requests
  • Responds directly to requests, as applicable. Otherwise assigns an internal owner and monitors completion
  • Ensures requests are completed in a timely manner
  • Utilizes the questions and interpretation requests as opportunities for development of contract FAQs
  • As required, consults with or employs legal counsel to assist with or provide final contract interpretations
  • As appropriate, participates in the review and resolution of contract related issues
  • Maintains the currency of the official copy of the contracts, Amendments and associated exhibits and schedules
  • Maintains records of all formal, contract-related correspondence between AbbVie and service provider
  • Works with the relevant organizations to ensure the service providers are aware of and are in compliance with the applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations
  • Develops and provides reports to stakeholders regarding Contract Management functional area
  • Contributes to consolidated supplier and governance program reporting targeted for management and executives
  • Regularly monitors the execution of assigned processes/capabilities,
  • Performs reviews of assigned respective processes/capabilities at least annually to assess whether they 1) are current, 2) accurately depict the processes being performed, and 3) need to be revised for any reason
  • Updates assigned processes / capabilities, as required

  • Service Level Methodology
  • Resource Units
  • Pricing Methodology & Appropriateness
  • Commercial terms and sourcing specific terms

Qualifications

 

 

  • 4-6 years of experience in Sourcing and BPO/ITO Outsourcing, working directly with Service Providers, and managing contracts
  • Background in people management, financial responsibility, negotiations and business decision-making
  • Consultative and continuous-improvement focused
  • Bachelor's degree required
