Responsibilities

The laboratory of Benoit Bruneau at the Gladstone Institutes (http://bruneaulab.gladstone.org) is searching for a Research Associate (RA) to help us study the regulation of genes during heart development, using mouse models in vivo and stem cells in vitro. We are looking for candidates who are strongly motivated, work well in a team, and who could start immediately (or upon graduation). There is a potential for one or two publications within a two year time period. Candidates with plans for graduate school, medical school or dental school are encouraged to apply.

Required

-BA/BS in Biological sciences

-At least 6 months practical experience in a research laboratory, preferred

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Strong work ethic

Preferred skills

-Tissue culture

-DNA cloning and PCR

-Preparation and analysis of RNA, DNA, and protein

-Flow-cytometry

-Mouse husbandry

-Proficiency in Excel, Word, GraphPad PRISM, Photoshop and Illustrator

-R programming (or equivalent)

-Lab Management (ordering, restocking, database maintenance)
