Senior Equipment Specialist

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining and operating Regeneron managed equipment. Responsible for critical equipment support within the Vivarium, PMPD, and BAS areas. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the REES Environmental monitoring systems. Performs equipment repairs and maintenance, schedules and works with outside contractors and/or Landlord provided personnel. Performs equipment support services for on-site and off-site company events.

Responsibilities:

• Performs service & maintenance on Regeneron owned lab and specialty equipment.

• Performs daily, weekly, monthly, & quarterly equipment inspections.

• Maintains lab & specialty equipment inventory control, updating equipment list on Facilities server/s, and maintaining current lists and locations of freezers, refrigerators, incubators, LN2 freezers, etc.

• Performs repairs of -80 freezers, -20 freezers, refrigerators, incubators, LN2 feezers, and/or recondition lab & specialty equipment and/or oversee & approve such work when required.

• Performs maintenance of the freezer/refrigerator/incubator/cold room Emergency contact lists.

• Coordinates and responds to REES Alarms 24/7, addresses REES Monitoring Issues, program, service and maintain the REES system.

• Work with REES personnel when required. Utilize REES call-in lists and perform temporary coverage changes for staff vacations and PTO days.

• Order parts and keep records of all parts ordered and installed.

• Perform preventative maintenance as per schedules including filter cleaning and replacement, fan motor service, replacement of worn or broken parts etc.

• Works with all relevent SOP's.

• Performs facilities work requests utilizing computerized IWMS and documents work product.

• Assists in general facilities tasks, office and lab renovations.

• Provides specialized and/or general support when required to other departments.

• Operate company vehicles.

• Maintain customer service standards.

• Available 24/7 for assistance and emergency response.
Requirements:

• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook, power point, etc.)

• Adept in the use of mobile communication devices

• Skilled in the use of the REES Environmental Monitoring System

• Skilled in the use of BMS and IWMS systems

• Operate company vehicles

• Operate powered pallet jack and fork lift

• Exhibit good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Exhibit very good organizational skills

• Ability to manage numerous tasks/projects simultaneously

• Excellent customer service skills

Minimal Educations Requirements: Associates degree or 4 to 6 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree

Required Licenses & Certificates: Universal refrigeration technician certificate preferred

Minimum Years of Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in a lab equipment support role. Trade license/s and refrigeration certificate preferred.
