This position will develop, implement and maintain global EHS programs and provide technical expertise to AbbVie's global organization for Radiation Safety and Dangerous Goods compliance. It will provide direct EHS support for AbbVie employees and minimize EHS liability for the company. This position will also manage two EHS professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for compliance with applicable global regulations and company policies and procedures for scope of Radiation Safety and Dangerous Goods compliance.

• Monitor industry standards and regulatory requirements, practices and enforcement trends and maintain a level of technical expertise to support company compliance for scope of responsibility.

• Develop and implement systems for scope of responsibility to enable AbbVie to operate in legal and ethical compliance while aligned with the Zero. Believe it. Achieve it philosophy with regard to EHS issues.

• Communicate compliance status, Key Performance Indicators, trends, priority issues and business impact to key stakeholders, including senior management.

• Lead and/or participate on cross functional teams to represent EHS objectives related to the subject matter and meet the team's overall objectives and deliverables.

• Staff, retain and developed qualified professionals to meet organizational needs and business objectives.

• Bachelor's Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 10 + years of EHS related experience or Master's Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 8 - 10 years of EHS related experience. EHS related experience in manufacturing/ R&D environments are required. EHS or Engineering professional certification is preferred, but not required.

• Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations and managing cross functional teams

• Development of practical, applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives. Technical expertise in the EHS functions as well as technical writing and business communications.

• Ability to actively listen, build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflict

• Patients, Company employees, direct reports, company management, cross functional teams, global regulatory authorities and external organizations
