Applied Molecular Transport is a venture-backed biopharmaceutical company with a transformative platform technology that enables the development of next generation biological therapeutics, with a particular focus on oral, site-specific targeting to the gastrointestinal tract as well as to peripheral biology. The company's core pipeline therapeutic area strategy is focused on immunology, inflammation and metabolic diseases. The successful candidate will be a bench research associate and key member of the biological sciences. The candidate will help to advance programs from discovery to IND/CTA filing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo studies.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and generate reports and presentations.

Required Skills

  • Passion to maintain current scientific literature knowledge focused on immunology, cell and molecular biology.
  • Comfortable at working independently and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable at collaborating in a cross-functional team environment on occasion.
  • The ability to be innovative and creatively solve problems on schedule.
  • Familiarity with inflammatory diseases, intestinal and hepatic in vitro and ex vivo system is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PK/PD studies and interpretation of data is a plus.
  • Experience with ELISA, Western blotting, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, microscopy and histology is required; experience with Meso Scale Discovery system is a plus.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture is required; PBMC and primary cell isolation is a plus.
  • Proficiency with various in vivo skills including dosing (IV, SC, IP, PO), bleeding and harvesting/processing of tissues is a plus.
  • Expertise in data analysis software is a must: MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, Flowjo and GraphPad Prism.
  • Outstanding organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills are a must.

Required Experience

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or relevant degree with at least 4 years of hands-on work experience in a biotech or pharma setting.
  • On occasion, comfortable working on weekends.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing a variety of in vitro and in vivo studies.
